Vladimír Beneš (CZE)

The human brain is a complex, sophisticated and fascinating organ. Working with it is just as fascinating and requires a great deal of respect. Even the best neurosurgeons do not know exactly what is actually going on in the depths of the brain. Despite this fact, or precisely because of it, Czech Professor Vladimír Beneš has chosen neurosurgery as his life's mission, just as his father did before him, and now also his son, all three carrying the same name.
Professor Beneš specializes in brain aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations, and also the most complicated brain tumours. Until recently, he was the head of the Neurosurgical Clinic of the Central Military Hospital in Prague and the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University. He also previously chaired the Czech Neurosurgical Society and the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies.
