Tomáš is a successful Czech scientist in the field of artificial intelligence, winner of the 2018 Neuron Prize for the most important scientific discovery of the year. He is interested in language models, and has worked for technology giants such as Google, Facebook and Microsoft. He has contributed significantly to the improvement of Google Translate.

Since 2014, he has worked on the Facebook AI Research (FAIR) team in Silicon Valley and New York. He now leads a research team at the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC) at Czech Technical University in Prague.
