Tomáš Gongol (CZE)

In 2004, he joined the Silesian University in Opava as an assistant professor, where he worked at the Faculty of Commerce and Business in Karviná in several positions. From the position of Vice-Dean for Academic and Social Affairs, which he held since 2013, he was promoted in 2015 to the university-wide position of Vice-Rector - first for Academic and Social Affairs, and since 2019, for Strategy and Communication. From 1 March 2023, he has served as Rector of the Silesian University in Opava.
Professionally, he focuses mainly on the field of commercial law and intellectual property law with a focus on their application in the field of modern communication technologies.
