Head of Programming at Euromedia

Petra studied English and French at the Department of Translation and Interpreting, Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague. She has been working at Euromedia for many years, first as an editor, then as an editor-in-chief of popular and educational literature, then as deputy director of the publishing house and now as programme director.

She also works as a translator from English: She translates mainly Anglo-American prose in various genres, including children's literature and popular science texts. Her translations include Hanya Yanagihara's A Little Life (2017), several novels by Zadie Smith and David Mitchell, a new translation of Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre, and Deepa Anappara's Djinn Patrol on the Purple Line (2021).
