Pavel Váňa (CZE)
Particle physicist
Pavel is a PhD student at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague, where he studies heavy ion collisions at the ATLAS experiment at CERN.
He enjoys popularizing science and in his free time, he enjoys astronomy, photography, and the firefighting sport. Pavel is one of the organizers of Astronomická expedice, a summer school of astronomy for high school and university students. Since 2021, he is also the chairman of one of the sections of the Czech Astronomical Society called "Amatérské prohlídky oblohy" (Amateur Sky Tour).
