He is a convener of the heavy-ion group at the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, CERN, where he tries to understand our Universe at the most fundamental level. He enjoys communicating science.
Martin currently works at Charles University in Prague, where he received his Ph.D. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Illinois and at the Columbia University in the City of New York from 2015 to 2020. He organized summer schools of astronomy, and served as a public lecturer at high schools, and other cultural and educational institutions. He co-founded the outreach program “Science to Go” with a couple of friends, which presents public events with short lectures on selected scientific topics.
