After being expelled from the Faculty of Education at Charles University, Prague, in 1977, Aleš began self-publishing magazines. His second one, PROSTOR magazine, which he founded with his friends in 1982, is still published today. In addition to this magazine, during the events of November 1989, he founded an official publishing house of the same name, which to this day publishes books of many genres, especially historical and political ones, as well as high-quality prose works by international authors.
The small family business eventually turned into a medium-sized publishing house, which he has been gradually handing over to his son Adam, who has been working there since he was 19 years old.
