Klára Kolouchová (CZE)

Climber

The first Czech woman to climb the three highest mountains on Earth.

She was born with a passion for the cause, curiosity, and a desire to discover – to live. She can sweep those around her off their feet with her spirit. But it's not merely the desire for adventure that drives her forward. It's the search for and discovery of the laws of our life, its meaning. Challenge is the word Klára lives by.
She climbed her first eight-thousander Cho Oyu in 2006 with Tashi Tenzing, grandson of the famous Tenzing Norgay. After climbing Mount Everest in 2007, Klára stood on the summits of two eight-thousanders in 2019 – the sacred Kanchenjunga and, not long after, the glamorous and ruthless K2, the world's second highest mountain. Her other summits include the continents’ highest mountains such as Aconcagua, Denali and Elbrus.

Klára climbed the three highest mountains in the world as the first Czech woman. She's just climbed the Eight Thousand Annapurna. Why choose the harder path and how important it is to work with fear? How far are the peaks of the highest mountains from the ones of life?
