He is involved in zoology and in the field of ex situ and in situ nature conservation. He graduated from the University of Ostrava and Palacký University in Olomouc. Since 1998, he has been working at the Ostrava Zoo, in positions ranging from animal keeper, zoologist and head of the zoological department. Since 2021, he has been the director of the Ostrava Zoo.
