Jana Kukutschová (CZE)

Expert in nano-technology

„Small particles, big responsibility.“

Jana is a professor at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology at VSB-TUO and a guarantor of the degree programme Nanotechnology. Her research focuses on nanomaterials and their environmental and human health impacts.

Her work mainly concentrates on emissions from non-combustion transportation processes, specifically particles emitted through brake wear, and the development of materials that are safer for the environment and health. She has delivered several invited lectures on these topics at conferences in the USA, France, and Germany.
Additionally, Jana investigates the risks associated with nanomaterials and the presence of solid particles in human tissues and bodily fluids. Recently, she has been active in efforts to prevent the use of titanium dioxide nanoparticles in kindergartens within the Moravian-Silesian Region.
