Jan Frait (CZE)

Deputy Governor of the Czech National Bank

Jan serves a second term as a member of the CNB's Bank Board, as Deputy Governor from February 2023. He is currently responsible for prudential supervision of the financial market.

Jan graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the VSB — Technical University of Ostrava, where he also completed his doctoral studies and was appointed Professor of Economics at the University in 2002.
He first became a member of the Czech National Bank Board in 2000. After completing this mandate, he built up a unit at the CNB responsible for financial stability analysis and macroprudential policy making from 2007 onwards, and has been involved in this area until today.
In his free time, he plays with his friends in the rock band TřeshBand.
