Tomáš started working for ORLEN Unipetrol during his studies. He is now a member of the Board of Directors of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group responsible for production, research and development, and a member of the Board of Directors of the ORLEN Unipetrol Foundation.
Tomáš received his education at the University of Chemical Technology in Prague, where he graduated in 1999 with a degree in organic technology. Three years later he received his Ph.D. and in 2010 he became an associate professor.
Tomáš Herink is also a university teacher and has long promoted the link between education and practice. He has published numerous articles and lectures in the Czech Republic and abroad. Among other things, he was instrumental in the establishment of the University Centre of the Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University - ORLEN Unipetrol, which since 2015 has been located directly on the production site of ORLEN Unipetrol in Litvínov Záluží. Based on his scientific research, ORLEN Unipetrol has commissioned a completely new unit for the production of liquid hydrocarbon dicyclopentadiene, which is obtained via a unique technological process.
