He is one of the top Czech and world leaders in physiotherapy. Professor Pavel Kolář has long been devoted primarily to children’s movement pathology, nevertheless, he is better known among the public for his physiotherapy care for top Czech athletes such as Jaromír Jágr, Roman Šebrle, Radek Štěpánek, as well as for popular singers.
Kolář was also a member of former Czech President Václav Havel’s medical team. Since 1999, he has been the Head of the Clinic of Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine at the University Hospital in Motol and the 2nd Faculty of Medicine at Charles University, where he is currently the Vice Dean for Development and Investment. He gives lectures at both Czech and foreign universities, he is very active in publishing as well as in the media. He is also a member of the implementation team for the Czech national sports teams in hockey, football, athletics, and other disciplines.
Pavel Kolář is the author of more than 140 professional articles and several successful books. He is the founder of the diagnostic and therapeutic concept of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), which is used in physiotherapy, as well as in related medical disciplines to diagnose and target optimization of an individual's movement level. In 2007, he received the State Award for Merit in Education and Science from former President Václav Klaus.
