Milan Jakubek (CZE)

Since 2016, he has been the head of the medicinal chemistry group at the 1st Faculty of Medicine - BIOCEV, Charles University. The lab specializes in design, synthesis, bioassay and formulation in the field of small molecules and has many scientific collaborations worldwide. Their area of scientific interest targets new drugs and formulations, including their application in medicine, pharmaceuticals or cosmetics.
The success of the laboratory is evidenced by several successful technology transfers or license sales in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Milan studied analytical chemistry at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, University of Chemical Technology in Prague. In 2023 he habilitated at the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University in the field of Medicinal Chemistry and Biochemistry. He gained experience during several international internships in scientific laboratories in Switzerland, Belgium and the USA, as well as a commercial GMP specialization in the pharmaceutical industry.
His greatest hobbies are science and technology, including paragliding and powered paragliding, where many new ideas can emerge.
