Nature and wild animals conservationist

 

František Příbrský is a passionate protector of wild animals from the Czech Republic. He currently works for the Ostrava Zoological Garden and Botanical Park as a field zoologist and coordinator of conservation projects. František also works as an external consultant for the Zoo in Ústí nad Labem.

 

In Indonesia, he co-founded a foundation called Yayasan Peduli Kelestarian Satwa Liar (Wildlife Preservation Foundation), which sponsors most of the conservation activities of the Kukang Rescue Program (combating illegal wildlife trade in Sumatra and protecting the endangered loris), where he now serves as director. In addition to the direct protection of wild animals in Sumatra, he also co-founded and co-leads a new European project called Stolen Wildlife, focusing on the issue of illegal trade in wild animals and their body parts in Europe, especially in the Czech Republic.
In addition to the aforementioned, he is also a member of the Prosimian TAG expert group within the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA), where he works as an advisor for prosimians and their conservation in Southeast Asia and also as a deputy coordinator for small prosimian breeding (EEP).
